Toasty Feet insoles contain the insulating material, aerogel – simply the lightest and lowest-density solid known to exist. This nano-technology, used by and developed for NASA, is 50-99-Percent air, yet can hold 500-4,000 times its weight in applied force. What does that mean to you? It means the insulating material does not obtain its effectiveness from loft or thickness – so the insoles’ insulating material will not lose its effectiveness when compressed underfoot. Toasty Feet insoles effectively block the transfer of cold and heat – keeping your foot a constant and comfortable temperature. Fits in almost any shoe or boot.

  1. Fantastic insulators from ground chill Some of the other reviewers seem to expect these insoles to generate heat; that's an unrealistic expectation. They are fantastic insulators. I wear minimalist 'barefoot' shoes — just a 5mm rubber sole, no insulation, no padding — and these insoles make an enormous amount of difference to how warm my feet are. Almost-instant chill without the insoles turns into an easy 30-minute walk at 30° with no noticeable ground heat transfer at all.The only two downsides to be aware...

  2. No better than cheap foam inserts my shoes came with. Complete waste of money. I bought these to help insulate my cycling shoes for winter. I tested them by putting one of these "aerogel" insoles down on my concrete garage floor along with one of the inserts from my cycling shoes, which is made of some slightly squishy high density foam, and stepped onto both. The bottom of both my feet got cold at exactly the same rate. What a complete waste of money - aerogel is a proven technology, but they probably sprinkle a tiny little bit into the foam mix just...

  3. Function as they should, not overly bulky and are spongy and comfortable for me too. I work outside year around in all sorts of cold weather every day. I used these in my Wesco leather work boots (these do not have much of an insole from the factory and are not insulated) in the fall and I noticed a difference in heat loss through the bottoms of my feet. They are also spongy and comfortable for me. I have since moved them into my winter boots where I put them under the thick wool felt insoles I already have in these boots which go under the beaver fur liners. These boots...
